PET PEEVES = THINGS THAT ANNOY YOU,

YOU CAN’T STAND 

ADVANCED STUDENTS,

EVERYBODY HAS PET PEEVES TO TELL. I HAVE SO MANY PET PEEVES THAT I HAD TO SELECT SOME OF THEM TO POST HERE. I CAN SAY I DON’T GET IRRITATED ALL THE TIME, BUT A LOT OF THINGS GETS ON MY NERVES. UNLIKE MANY PEOPLE, SMALL THINGS PISSES ME OFF. CHECK IT OUT!

SOME OF KELLY’S PET PEEVES

It really annoys me when I go shopping and there is no parking space for me. I have to wait for a lot of time for one. I think parking space is getting a big problem in Brasília. Wherever I go, depending on the time of the day, it is almost impossible to park the car.

It gets on my nerves when I am in the middle of an important thing on the web and it goes dead. I have to restart all over again…. it is worst if it is a chat. I have to say that my net isn’t good and apology. However the conversation looses a little bit the focus I was having previously.

I don’t understand why Brazilian drivers use their hands to ask for passing. They avoid the TURN SIGNAL to use the OK SIGN. They stare at us and show the ok finger. Even if I don’t want to let them go I have to. Many drivers show the OK SIGN and don’t stop the car to SEE if they can really go. They just go… It can be dangerous! WAIT FOR YOUT TURN!

It bugs me when I don’t have money to buy a nice thing in the end of the month. How my salary is so small!

I am having a list of the most annoying things.

1. People who are always late.
2. Talking on cell phones and driving too slow in the fast lane.
3. People who chew with their mouth wide open.
4. People throwing cigarette butts on the beach or out of cars.
5. Waitors and waitresses with dirty fingernails.
6. People who don’t perform their duties at work.
7. Sneezing in your hand and shaking someone’s hand afterward.
8. Not washing hands after using the bathroom.
9. Children’s hand prints on the windows in car.
10. People who constantly stand in your personal space.

INVENTIONS

HELLO STUDENTS FROM A2

An INVENTION is something useful created by someone!

I ask all the students to talk about an invention by telling us who created, when, why and how people use this invention in everyday life.

 I have to say that I loved all the presentations. You did exactly like I asked you to do. I am glad that 95% of the class could present successfully. CONGRATULATIONS!

IGOR talked about BASKETBALL. WOW…. How he loves it! We could see fantastic parts of basketball games.

 KATIÚSCIA made me breathtaking with her presentation about PHOTOGRAPHY. I could stop thinking about the video she broght to the class. Wanna see it again?

 Whose presentation was fast? ANDRÉ. He was so fast that we had to concentrate a lot to listen to ALL the details he gave us about CELLPHONE.

 JACQUELINE and the 50’s swimsuits until today’s fashion. It was so outstanding to see the video from many years ago. How the swimsuits have changed and gotten modern. Check it out…

 VIVIANE and the BARBIE DOLL  

 GABRIELA explained about MICROSCOPE. What a difficul topic! There are a lot of technical terms. It was interesting!

 EDUARDO talked about the guitar. We could see he has passion!

 

BRUNA and KAMILA gave us terrific explanations about COKE and CLOCK. GREAT GIRLS!!!

KELLY’S LAST WEEKEND: April, 2008

• ON FRIDAY EVENING                                          

I came home at 7:30p.m.                                                

I ate cake and drank orange juice.                               

I took a shower and then I watched TV.                   

I checked my e-mails. I talked on MSN with my friends.

I went to bed at 11:30p.m.

• ON SATURDAY

I got up at 8 a.m.

I brushed my teeth and had my breakfast. I ate bread and drank milk.

I cleaned the house and washed the dishes.

I listened to music.

I made lunch.

I took a shower and went shopping with my mother at 3:00 p.m.

• ON SUNDAY

I got up late. I took a shower. I went to my grandmother’s house to have lunch.

I ate rice, beans, vegetables and meat. I ate pineapple.

I saw a movie in the afternoon. I took a nap.

I went to church at 7:00 p.m.

My weekend was relaxing and nice!
